In December 2006 the LI introduced the Pathway to Chartership, the system which delivers the highly skilled landscape professionals of the future. The Pathway encourages individuals to take ownership of their learning and plan, review and reflect on their development with the aid of a Mentor.
The LI wishes to appoint further experienced Members and Fellows of the LI to join our Pathway Supervisory team. Supervisors provide quarterly feedback to Mentors on their Candidate’s development. They will also consider Candidate eligibility to go forward to the second stage of the Pathway, the oral exam. Interactions with Mentors are generally via the Pathway online system, although some contact by email may occasionally be necessary. Supervisors will be expected to maintain a portfolio of 20-25 Candidates.
The successful applicants for these posts will normally be CMLIs of a minimum of five years standing with experience of the Pathway either as a Mentor or Examiner. Initial training is provided as well as ongoing annual training events.
For more information about the Pathway to Chartership, the Supervisor post, and a job description, please contact Alex Whittaker at the LI on 0207 299 4535 or email pathway@landscapeinstitute.org. Applications should be in the form of a CV with a covering letter outlining relevant experience and should reach the LI by midday on Monday 8th March. Applicants being invited for interview will be informed of the date and time by Monday 15th March.
