The Opportunity
TEP needs to further expand its skills base in landscape and visual assessment. This is an exciting consultancy opportunity which offers a chance to work on extremely stimulating and challenging projects and further your own career and expertise in a supportive multidisciplinary practice.
About TEP
TEP is an award-winning multi-disciplinary environmental consultancy employing environmental planners, landscape architects and urban designers, landscape managers, ecologists and urban foresters working on a wide-ranging portfolio.
Based in Warrington, between the vibrant cities of Liverpool and Manchester, TEP is run by three partners and employs 55 professionals. We are all passionate about creating quality places for the benefit of people, nature and business.
The Post
A growing aspect of TEP's portfolio relates to landscape and visual impact assessment for national infrastructure projects and to assist local planning authorities in their forward planning.
Our portfolio includes expansion of the national grid of electricity lines and connection of new wind farms and other power stations; commercial and leisure development including new sports stadia; and housing and mixed use developments. TEP is taking some of the first nationally significant infrastructure projects to applications to the Infrastructure Planning Commission. Advising on the most appropriate way to address key issues and assessing and communicating potential effects on views and landscape to a wide range of stakeholders is an important part of that work.
For local planning authorities we undertake a range of landscape character assessments to assist in deriving criteria-based policy for conservation, enhancement and restoration of landscapes. Clear communication and good presentation of results are required. These documents may become Local Development Documents and our work may lead to presentation of our assessments at public inquiry.
Key skills are in landscape and visual assessment, report-writing and stakeholder consultation. We expect that you will be able to prepare outline designs and sketches to support your work.
We expect the post will be of interest to landscape architects with a background in appropriate work such as landscape and visual assessment; landscape planning or landscape management.
While the role has a strong focus on landscape and visual assessment, there is likely to be opportunity to work on some design projects and to develop to lead multi-disciplinary projects where effects on views and landscape are key issues.
Equal Opportunities
TEP is an equal opportunities employer and is positive about disabled people. We will guarantee an interview for all disabled candidates meeting the eligibility criteria.
Remuneration
Attractive salary and benefits package, salary to be based on experience.
