LI launches online survey on Pathway to Chartership, CPD and career development
17th March 2008
The LI launches an online survey today to seek members’ views on the Pathway to Chartership, CPD and career development.
The survey is a first step in a review of the learning support the LI provides for members, says Alex Whittaker, who joined the LI as Head of Professional Development in January.
“We want to find out more about members’ experiences: if you have been involved in the Pathway to Chartership as a Candidate or Mentor or because you have Candidates in your practice, how have you found it? If you are a fully qualified member, how do you approach your CPD?”
The survey also asks about how CPD is handled within practices, the areas of knowledge and understanding members feel are particularly important for landscape professionals, and the kinds of services members would like to support them in developing their professional careers. There are also questions about those who may not yet have joined the LI or are working at technician level.
Responses can be anonymous, but everyone who responds will be entered into a separate prize draw for a £50 John Lewis voucher.
You can contribute your responses here.
Professional development is one of the top priorities identified for the LI within the Development Plan 2007-12. Responses to the survey will contribute the development and review of the Pathway as it passes its one year milestone, and to future thinking about CPD and professional development overall. A new CPD working group will meet for the first time in May 2008.
