Boundary and Branch changes
5th March 2008
From 1st April 2008 the Landscape Institute are changing the branch boundaries to comply with the English regional boundaries used by Regional Development Agencies & Regional Assemblies. This means that some members in London and South East, South West, East Anglia and Midlands branches the will be moving branch. The creation of separate London and South East branches will also be implemented.
These changes mean member distribution will be more even throughout the regions and the new boundaries mean branches will be able to develop more effective engagement with external bodies on policy issues for instance.
Members who are affected will be automatically moved into their new branch on 1st April and contacted by their branch to welcome them.
If members wish to stay in there existing branch they can contact the LI from 1st April and choose their preferred ‘Primary’ Branch. Please email membership@landscapeinstitute.org
Due to some of the membership moving branches, affected Branches AGM’s will be taking place throughout April and May to vote in committee members.
Branch committee members volunteer a small amount of their time to both represent the membership and the LI, helping us fulfill our actions set out in our development plan. Actions designed and developed by and for the membership with assistance from the branches; they are therefore a vital part of the organisation’s ability to communicate with the membership.
We would like to hear from any members or associates interested in volunteering some time and joining their branch committee, especially in light of the new boundary structure. Please contact Claire Jeffs, Professional Relations Officer clairej@landscapeinstitute.org who would be happy to discuss this further.
