The Landscape Institute is the Chartered professional body for landscape architects in the UK. It is a charitable trust with approaching 6,000 members, a turnover of £2 million and a staff of 26.
The Institute is looking for a dynamic and managerially experienced Director General with an appreciation of the role of landscape architecture within society. Led by the President and Council, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing and developing the Institute’s relationship with its members; enhancing the profile and reputation of the Institute amongst other professionals and with government; and facilitating standards of excellence in the training, professional development and accreditation of landscape architects.
Excellent leadership, people management, administrative and communication skills are essential, as is a proven ability to deliver policies and to work to a member-led agenda. A sound knowledge of the workings of government
departments and professional institutes would be desirable.
