Barnard Park competition

15th October 2007

The London Borough of Islington is running a mini-competition to select a design team to develop a new master plan for an existing public park in a strategically important site in central London. The site is bordered by a conservation area of quiet Georgian city squares and the Kings Cross development area. Kings Cross is in the process of major long-term redevelopment as part of the Eurostar terminus project.

The aim of the project is to develop a park that, through excellent contemporary design, will meet the diverse needs of the local community, but also create an exciting space of a quality appropriate to the site’s strategically important location.

The competition is open to Multi-disciplinary teams offering skills in contemporary landscape design, architecture, and community consultation.

Expressions of interest in the project to be submitted by 8 November 2007.
