LI Conference Early Bird Offer Closing soon

10th September 2007

The Landscape Institute’s conference, Climate Change: The Challenge for Landscape Architecture will offer an important opportunity to pool expertise, raise awareness, and discuss the threats posed by climate change.

With ITN news presenter Mary Nightingale in the chair, Tim Lang, Professor of Food Policy at City University, will ask what land is for, John Handley, Professor of Land Restoration & Management at Manchester University, will talk about new climates, new lives and new landscapes; and landscape architect Kim Wilkie will be telling us not to panic. Castleford Project TV producer David Barrie will discuss designing the edible landscape; surfer and eco-entrepreneur Andy Middleton will report on St David’s, the UK’s first eco-city; and Annie Coombs will offer case studies on green infrastructure. We have also invited key figures from politics and other fields to give us their views.

There will be a great selection of workshops featuring urban microclimates, wind farm development, flood management and designing for gorillas plus a range of site visits making the most of our conference venue in Regent’s Park.

The first day is followed by the Conference dinner at the Royal College of Physicians in Regent’s Park.
