Design for Play call for case studies
4th September 2007
The Free Play Network is currently looking for sites to feature in a guide for practitioners on designing for children and young people's play. The guide, which is being developed on behalf of Play England, aims to improve play opportunities by raising aspirations and inspiring creativity and imagination in all those charged with commissioning, managing and developing public open spaces.
We are looking for good examples of parks, playgrounds and public spaces that demonstrate quality and innovation in providing for children and young people's play and informal recreation.
We would welcome suggestions from landscape architects for places to be included. Please contact Nicola Butler, Director, Free Play Network, 129 Lancaster Road, Barnet, EN4 8AJ; nbutler@freeplaynetwork.org.uk.
It would be helpful if you could supply the name and location of the site; contact details for a person responsible or involved in the management, design, development or maintenance of the site; a brief explanation of why you think the site is worth considering for the Design for Play publication; and your own contact details so that we can follow up if further information is required. It would be very helpful, although not essential, if you could also provide some photographs of the site.
