LDA seeks master planner for lasting Olympic legacy
14th August 2007
The London Development Agency has began the process of selecting a masterplan design team to transform east London following the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
They will create the physical framework for new homes, parkland, schools, health facilities, infrastructure and work space in the Lower Lea Valley for the largest regeneration opportunity in inner London.
The Olympic legacy masterplan will form the basis of an outline planning application in 2009 which will provide the context for future Olympic Park planning applications post 2012.
Manny Lewis, Chief Executive of theLondon Development Agency, said:
"The 2012 Games are a unique opportunity to regenerate one of London’s most deprived areas. We are committed to building sustainable communities where people can work, live and prosper."
