Job Vacany - Media and Public Relations Officer at Landscape Institute Head Office

20th June 2007

Media and Public Relations Officer
Central London
c£27,000 plus generous benefits

The Landscape Institute is the professional body and regulator for landscape architecture. Under its Royal Charter the Landscape Institute is charged with protecting, conserving and enhancing the natural and built environment for the benefit of the public.

We are looking for an energetic self starter to promote the work of the UK’s 5,500 landscape architects to the media.

Climate change, health, renewable energy, urban regeneration—today’s big issues all have a relationship with landscape, the context for social, economic and cultural development. To promote our messages about the impact of landscape architecture, our media officer must have a keen news sense, a flair for feature writing and a passion for responding to contemporary environmental problems.

You will have NCTJ or equivalent qualifications, at least two years experience in a news room or press office, and a track record in finding and selling stories. You will be a team player able to work closely with colleagues and Institute members to find the best media and PR angles on the Institute’s diverse work programme.
