26th March 2007
Leading landscape architect Jason Prior is to highlight the renaissance in the profession of landscape architecture in a lecture at the Royal Society for Arts on Wednesday, 28 March.
Mr Prior, Regional Vice President of EDAW Europe and a Commissioner on CABE, the government's advisor on architecture, urban design and public space, is the lead consultant behind the masterplan for the successful London 2012 Olympic bid. He is currently leading on work with the Olympic Delivery Authority to implement plans for the Olympic Park. His lecture, on urban regeneration and public spaces, is hosted jointly by the RSA and the Landscape Institute, the professional body for chartered landscape architects.
The broad spectrum that covers the profession of landscape architecture encompasses the physical design of public and private spaces, the community design of cities and neighbourhoods and the environmental design of urban and rural places as well as a myriad of topics in between. By discussing recent projects, Jason Prior will talk about renaissance and challenges facing the profession.
