Academy for Sustainable Communities launches Awards

21st November 2006

The Academy for Sustainable Communities has introduced its inaugural Awards scheme. The Awards aim to 'recognise projects and initiatives that contribute to making better places in which to work and live'.

There are six categories to enter and it would be a great opportunity to promote landscape projects and the importance of landscape to government departments. The Awards replace the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister's Award for Sustainable Communities with the following categories:

* Leadership in creating sustainable communities
* Partnership working across the public, private and third sectors
* Cultural contribution
* Skills, training, learning and workforce development
* Well designed and well built
* Engaging young people

The awards will be presented at a dinner event on 7 June 2007 at the Artillery Gardens in London.

For further details visit www.ascskills.org.uk/pages/awards or email Dawn Barnes at the Landscape Institute who will forward you the entry form and details. DawnB@landscapeinstitute.org

If you choose to enter please let Dawn Barnes, Media & Public Affairs Officer at the LI, know so that your progress can be monitored and any promotional opportunities for you, your business and the profession can be pursued.
