80% Challenge - Delivering a low-carbon UK
09th Nov 2007Keeping human-induced average temperature rises to less than 2°C above pre-industrial levels – the UK and EU goal – will require the UK to reduce its carbon dioxide emissions by at least 80% by 2050. Taking into account the latest climate science, the current UK target of a 60% reduction is inadequate if Britain is to play its part in avoiding dangerous climate change.
