Barnard Park competition

The London Borough of Islington is running a mini-competition to select a design team to develop a new master plan for an existing public park in a strategically important site in central London. The site is bordered by a conservation area of quiet Georgian city squares and the Kings Cross development area. Kings Cross is in the process of major long-term redevelopment as part of the Eurostar terminus project.

Landscape Institute elects Clare Brockhurst as Fellow
19th Oct 2007The Landscape Institute is delighted to announce that landscape architect Clare Brockhurst has been elected a Fellow of the Institute. Clare, 39, gains the honour for her outstanding contribution to the development and improvement of the landscape profession. Out of a total of 5,500 members, just 79 are Fellows of the Landscape Institute – the professional body and regulator for landscape architecture.
Call for Papers by the Institute of Historical Research

Call for membership to the Landscape Institute’s Policy Committee
26th Oct 2007In early October, the Landscape Institute’s newly formed Policy Committee met for the first time. Items covered at this meeting were the approach the Institute would take in terms of responding to policy proposals from government departments and agencies. The Committee also decided that the Institute should develop its own policy statements and related work in the following areas: Climate Change, Community Development, Green Infrastructure and Housing.
