Power Drawing professional development day for engineers, architects, planners and landscape architects.

The Campaign for Drawing’s aim is for drawing to be widely understood as a vital tool for learning, creativity and cultural engagement. It sees drawing as a capacity that everyone can develop.

Power Drawing, the professional development programme that underpins the Campaign, supports the work of teachers, cultural educators and others who use drawing in their work. It strives to embed drawing as a medium for learning in educators’ practice in a variety of settings, in schools, museums, galleries and heritages sites. Since launching Power Drawing – the professional development programme of the Campaign for Drawing – earlier this spring, many people have asked how they can get involved.

The Campaign is seeking to extend the range of drawers prepared to share their practice and help to develop the work of the Campaign. A professional development day for civil engineers, architects, planners and landscape architects will be held on 7 November, hosted by the Royal Academy of Engineering. The focus is on designers involved in the built and natural environment.

The purpose of this day is to:

  • Share information about the Campaign for Drawing, The Big Draw, and the Power Drawing professional development programme
  • Explore how drawing features in professional development programmes
  • Begin to establish a pool of tutors to work with the Power Drawing programme - in particular to lead or support Big Draw training
  • Contribute to a new Power Drawing publication: Drawing: A Tool for Design
