Understanding the water imperative

Landscape architect Peter Wilder will be among the experts addressing a conference on sustainable water management on 21 October.

‘Water from sky to sewer’ will aim to explore practical solutions for sustainable water management in the built environment.
The conference takes place in The New Armouries at The Tower of London, itself a fine case study of how the most ancient structure can be retrofitted with the modern sustainable water management systems.
Topics will include:

  • Environmental leadership in action
  • Making budgets go further
  • Meeting local needs
  • Delivering carbon and energy targets
  • Legacy benefits for communities
  • Being commercial while remaining responsible
  • Working with climate change
  • Urban heat islands

Peter Wilder, managing director of MacFarlane Wilder, will focus on an understanding of the environmental imperative of water management in his presentation entitled ‘Water is the new carbon…shades of things to come’.
