Maggie’s is hoping to raise funds by encouraging members of the public to open up their gardens. The charity provides free practical, emotional and psychological support for anyone affected by cancer.
Maggie’s has teamed up with House & Garden magazine to launch the campaign, which will encompass gardens of all shapes and sizes – from patios to walled gardens and vegetable patches to allotments. People can get involved by hosting garden parties, barbeques or by even gathering work colleagues for a picnic in the park.
There’s no restriction on the size of your garden – or your creativity. To help make your event a success House & Garden will send you a selection of recipes for alfresco entertaining, a poster for the event and advice on ticket prices, parking, staffing, selling plants and advice on how to publicise your party.
