Have your say on BS5837 – Trees and Construction

The revised version of BS5837 - Trees and Construction has now been published for public comment...

This is a major revision of a very important reference document used to establish standards by arboriculturists, planners and planning inspectors, landscape architects, engineers, surveyors, architects and anyone connected with the development and construction industries.

The last revision, in 2005, met with critical reviews from many stakeholders, not least landscape architects. This is an opportunity to comment on the draft version before a final version is produced and brought into general use.

Ian Phillips MRTPI, CMLI, a member of the drafting panel, said: "I would urge LI members to make relevant comments directly to the BSI via its online facility at http://drafts.bsigroup.com/"

Deadline for responses to be received by the BSI is 30 June 2011. All consultation responses will be carefully considered.

A full pdf version of the draft document can now also be downloaded at http://drafts.bsigroup.com/Home/Details/743
