By now I hope most members will have received their copy of the magazine, together with the ‘Why Invest in Landscape?’ leaflet.
The ‘Why Invest?’ campaign has got off to a cracking start with a number of members already requesting additional copies to give to their clients and send out to their contacts.
If you would like additional copies (which are all free!) please contact (JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)
The American Society of Landscape Architects contacted us to congratulate us on running the campaign and asking to compare notes; the electronic version of the leaflet has been tweeted around the world and landscape architects in other countries are starting to make use of it.
The next stage of the campaign is a day of seminars at Ecobuild, which will be held on 2 March. We have now sold out but do add your name to the waiting list.
If you are not able to come to Ecobuild you may be able to catch the next stage of the campaign at Street Design where a few places are still available.
What are your views on the future direction on this campaign? What key audiences would you like to see us targeting? We want to make sure that all of the key client groups for our members know why they need to spend their money on landscape architecture so let us know if you think we need to target a specific group.
In the meantime we are preparing policy responses on public sector procurement and the Localism Bill. If you have contributions to make on these, please contact (JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address). The government’s U turn on forest sales, announced last night, means that we will not now need to make a detailed submission to the consultation and the new focus on biodiversity, access and management rather than on ownership is very welcome.
