Conference addresses cost savings and sustainable construction

Water industry group calls for sustainable construction

The Sustainable Water Industry Group (SWIG) will host a conference in London on 22 October on the cost-savings associated with sustainable construction.

According to SWIG, ‘a perception is still out there that sustainability adds nothing but costs to any project’. The truth, it says, is that for many there are huge savings to be made ‘even in the short term’.

Sustainable Construction: how do we get there? will take place at 24 Greencoat Place, Victoria. The keynote speaker is yet to be announced, but other speakers will include landscape architect, urbanist and climate change expert Luke EngelbackWSUD master planner Peter Wilder, and Professor Colin Green from the Flood Hazard Research Centre, Middlesex University.
