Horticultural experts needed for Royal Botanic Gardens board
Two vacancies have arisen for trustees on the board of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.
Candidates are sought with commercial and horticultural skills. The new trustees would need to demonstrate:
'a knowledge of and commitment to the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew and support of its purpose, values and strategic direction;
'the ability to think strategically, deliver change and improvements and develop a long term organisational vision; and
'the ability to build collaborative relationships and command the confidence of ministers, fellow board members, executive directors, employees and stakeholders'.
The role includes attending biannual board meetings and relevant committee meetings (mainly held at Kew, but with some at Wakehurst Place, West Sussex), a commitment of roughly 10-12 days per year. Both positions are unremunerated, but expenses such as travel are covered.
