LI invites members’ views ahead of submitting position on SuDS
Defra and DCLG have launched a consultation on an approach for implementing sustainable drainage systems and mechanisms for ensuring their long-term maintenance.
The consultation is part of the government’s commitment to implement SuDS at the earliest available opportunity, and it is seeking views on a proposal to make better use of the planning system to meet Sir Michael Pitt’s 2007 recommendations on sustainable drainage.
The Landscape Institute welcomes the consultation, which closes on 24 October. Policy and Public Affairs manager Stephen Russell is inviting members to send him their views on the consultation document. He would like these before 20 October, in order to coordinate an organisational response.
