Licentiate membership

 

Licentiate membership is open to those who have completed their initial professional education and are planning to work towards Chartered status.

 


The recommended route to licentiate membership is through completion of a LI accredited course, or other EU or overseas course recognised by the LI.

The LI also recognises, for the purposes of admission to licentiate membership, the qualifications of graduates from programmes accredited or recognised by the following:


Alternatively, if you have a degree, relevant experience and/or a postgraduate qualification in an area related to landscape and the environment you can also apply for licentiate membership via the LI's Membership Panel. Please contact the Membership Team enclosing your CV in the first instance.

Licentiate membership enables you to begin the Pathway to Chartership, and is an essential first step for anyone intending to become a Chartered landscape architect.

Please note:

  • The membership year runs from 1 June 2014 - 31 May 2015.
  • Concessionary grades are open to members who earn no more than £14k gross pa
  • Career break rates are available for Fellows, Members and Licentiates taking a career break, maternity/paternity leave, travel or further study
  • If you join part way through the year you will be billed pro rata for the remainder of the year.
