Based in Leicester, munro + whitten works throughout the UK. A strongly design-led practice, it has a very considered, possibly even geometric design style, and looks to introduce bold colours and strong forms to its designs whether at a large or small scale. It sees its greatest strengths as problem-solving and the careful consideration of any site at the earliest stages of a project.

In keeping with its design-led philosophy, which forefronts use and functionality, the quintessential munro + whitten designer has equal enthusiasm for all scales and types of projects, and is constantly looking to question accepted notions of landscape design. Backing this up is a strong technical ability and comfort with cutting edge graphics and CAD programmes to develop their hand drawn conceptual sketches.

The core team comprises five landscape architects with expertise in urban design, sustainability, ecology and masterplanning, and a landscape ecologist who specialises in rural studies, habitat survey, biodiversity strategies and landscape management. The presence of an in-house ecology specialist means that the practice is able to offer sustainable ecological and environmental planning throughout the life of a project.
