Imagination

If there were no original thinkers in the world, it’s hard to fathom how anything would ever change. To imagine, design and create requires real courage – putting one’s personal thoughts and original ideas into the public domain and inviting criticism can often be a painful process.

In this issue, we consider a variety of imaginative approaches in landscape design, from breathtaking computer-generated animation that envisages worlds where everything is perfect, to the humble on-site sketch, rendered with just a pencil and sketchbook that remains invaluable to many designers.
