Future Vision was funded by the Homes and Communities Agency in 2010 and 2011.  Funding has now ended and the programmes is closed.

Launched in 2007 by the Academy for Sustainable Communities, now the HCA Skills and Knowledge Directorate, the Future Vision Award encourages students to submit inspirational ideas that have the potential to improve communities across the country.

The Award is run by the Landcape Institute, the professional body for landscape architects. Future Vision 2011 was open to students of any discipline.

Aims
  • Promote sustainable communities
  • Find ideas for making better places to live, work and play
  • Demonstrate a high level of commitment to sustainability

There was one winner in each of the four categories, each of whom received the following:

  • An all expenses paid four-week work placement with a leading organisation that is interested in nurturing talent (this includes travel, accommodation and subsistence costs)
  • £1,000 cash prize (awarded following completion of the four-week work placement)
  • An invitation to attend the high-profile, national awards ceremony in London
  • A nationally recognised award to impress potential employers
