The education of landscape professionals is one of the LI's key functions under its Royal Charter, with the aim of supporting the profession in achieving the highest standards.


This includes promotion of landscape architecture as a career, accreditation of higher education courses, professional examinations and monitoring and support for continuing professional development.




We promote the landscape profession to school students, young people and career changers.

We accredit 31 higher education programmes in the UK and work with universities to meet the needs of the profession. More on accreditation



We provide forums, events and activities for landscape students through SLIC, our student council.

Pathway to Chartership


The Pathway to Chartership is the process landscape architects go through to achieve Chartered status, recognising them as fully qualified professionals. More on the P2C
